We all know what the SS acronym means on other cars: Super Sport. But maybe it means something different on the SS?
This came to my attention when I was customizing an SS about five minutes ago. On the tab description at the top of Google Chrome, it says this:
Build Your Own Sports Sedan: 2014 SS \ Chevrolet
So maybe it does mean Sports Sedan. Maybe I'm just over thinking this and it does mean Super Sport.
But that little banner has me thinking it means the earlier now. And so I'm always going to think of it as the Chevrolet Sports Sedan. It just has a better ring that Chevrolet Super Sport.
What thinks you, Oppo?

Could, but I don't believe it does. But damn do I want one!

It means that GM wanted to continue captive importing the Holden Commodore but, like the G8, had no idea how to market it once it had it.

I don't get why they didn't just stick with Commodore. The G8 made sense because most of their cars were G#, but SS doesn't fit into Chevy's all-named lineup.

With everything that's happened over the past several years, I'm thoroughly convinced that GM has absolutely no idea what it's doing. If GM were smart, they'd use their captive import Commodores as the basis for the Cadillac XTS instead of the Impala's Epsilon II platform. Being RWD it would fit into the rest of the Cadillac line up better.

I thought the XTS was just a stop-gap until the XLS or whatever it's going to be called is introduced. Just a cheaply developed car to keep old buyers who want a cushy ride and lots of room around.

An OPM (Old People Mover) is what the Buick LaCrosse is for, and that's also based on the Epsilon II platform. While we're waiting on this hypothetical car, why not have something fun serve as the intermediate car?
